Disability,
loneliness
and social
isolation
A study to understand loneliness and social-isolation faced by people who acquire a physical disability.

Problem?
An estimate of 48.9 million (19%) people in the US suffer from some form of disability. Due to which they face a lot of barriers like accessibility to social scenarios due to poor infrastructure, public transport, accessing mobility aids and the awareness amongst non-disable people. 25% of non-disable people avoid interactions due to fear of appearing patronising, saying the wrong thing, their struggle to look past the disability and focus on the individual.
Due to these barriers, people with disabilities face social isolation and loneliness.

?
SOLUTION
A mobile application that helps eliminate loneliness and social isolation by promoting organic interactions amongst people who acquire a physical disability and their closest connections. The platform provides creative avenues to promote interaction digitally and in the physical environment and acts like a virtual support group. This potentially helps a person who acquires a physical disability to cope with the situation in a positive manner and makes their closest connections agents of positive change in their lives.
